Skoda Auto India finally rolled out its much-awaited premium Sports Utility Vehicle Skoda Kodiaq. The all-new 7-seater Skoda Kodiaq SUV is just at the price of Rs. 34,49,501 (ex-showroom New Delhi) across the country.The Skoda Kodiaq takes on the likes of other seven-seater SUVs like the popular Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mitsubihi Pajero Sport, Isuzu MU-X and even the smaller Volkswagen Tiguan with which it shares its underpinnings. The SUV has MQB platform and this is the first 7-seater from Skoda India.
All About the Brand New Skoda Kodiaq Premium SUV 2017 Launched in India
The company has introduced the 2017 Skoda Kodiaq SUV with four color variants. Its delivery in India will begin in the first week of November. The company had already started booking this SUV. The booking amount is Rs. 20,000 only. The new Skoda Kodiaq has been developed on the Foxwagen Group’s Modal Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform.The Skoda Kodiaq shares it MQB modular platform with the likes of the Tiguan and the Superb, but stands longer than the Tiguan but shorter in length than the superb. The Kodiaq gets 18-inch wheels, on which the with 235-section tyres that add to “big” effect of the Kodiaq. The Skoda Kodiaq will come with a 2.0 litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. It produces somewhere to the tune of 148 hp and 340 Nm of torque.
Speaking of the new Skoda Kodiaq engine and power specifications, the 1968cc 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine has been installed which generates torque of 340-newton meters with the power of 150 HP. It has 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission system. In the case of mileage, this is a better option. The company claims that this car with the diesel engine will be able to give a mileage of 16.25 km per litre.
The Skoda Kodiaq gets a large touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard that features inbuilt navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Kodiaq also gets features like an umbrella in the door pockets, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and hands-free parking assist. The Kodiaq also comes with a ‘sleep package’ which equips the rear seat with two flaps on the headrests that can be moved to use as head support. Skoda also provides a set of blankets if you opt for this said seat package.
In terms of design, the SUV sports Skoda’s signature radiator grille, along with 2-tier headlamps and a stylish bumper with fog lamp inserts; while at the rear, the SUV gets wraparound tail lamps, an integrated spoiler, and a raked-in windshield.
Another major attraction to the Kodiaq is the boot capacity, which is claimed to be the largest in the segment. According to the company, if you fold down all the seats in the 7-seater model, you can get a jaw-dropping boot space capacity of 2,065 litres. It also gets features like emergency auto braking with radar assist. Dynamic Chassis Control for different riding modes and Skoda Connect.The vehicle will be on sale, across all the Skoda authorized dealerships in India from today.
